Whereas the technology is making progress the world of electronics or gadgets, different researches are also happening to reduce the pain in people’s life. Scientists have developed a new electric bandage that uses an electric field to speed up the rate of skin wound healing. The technology was effectively used to speed up wound healing on rats, hinting at a potential treatment for diabetic ulcers and other wounds that take too long to heal.
Now, researchers have developed a self-powered electric bandage that generates an electric field over an injury, quickly reduces the healing time for skin wounds in rats.
Electric Bandages
Researchers in the different countries of the world, like China and United States US has recently developed self-powered electric bandages that promise to be as easy to wear as ordinary dressings. The dressings include tiny electrodes powered by nano-generators wrapped around your torso. All you have to do is breathe, the movement of your rib-cage activates the nano-generators, sending low-intensity pulses to the wound area.
Newly developed e-bandages may be the solution, featuring an electric field that is applied directly to the wound. The question is how it will work? Well the nano-generator works to convert skin movements into electrical pulses. According to the scientist, Skin has an extraordinary ability to heal itself. But in some cases, wounds heal very slowly or not at all, which put the person at risk for chronic pain, infection and scarring.
On the other hand, the research has also described other benefits of electronic bandages. According to research, it has many benefits by inducing the electric field, including fibro-blast migration, proliferation, and differentiation enhancement. Well there is only one thing that is not mentioned when it will be used for the humans.
